Prior to engaging with a CBO, Habitat ensures that the organization can demonstrate reliability and competence through meticulous analysis of its key financial indicators and managerial operations.
When undertaking rehabilitation works, Habitat invites community members to participate in the work, while closely monitoring progress and conducting periodic check-ups within the households. This building of capacity within the community allows its members to eventually improve their overall livelihood earning potential . Moreover, access to the micro-lending schemes is coupled with financial awareness training for members of the community and CBOs. These sessions aim to empower beneficiaries and increase self-reliance through improved financial literacy. Additional training to improve managerial operations is also offered to CBOs.
