It is a project whose name and concept were developed by Habitat for Humanity Jordan. Activities within the framework of “Empowering Families with Home Repairs” are implemented in Eastern Amman, Jordan, with the generous support of the Gratiot Gift Fund.
The general goal is to improve housing conditions for vulnerable families living in unsafe and deteriorating environments. The people to whom the project is directed are Jordanian families, including female-headed households, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
The specific objectives are:
- Support for vulnerable households – by providing grant-based home repairs and renovations aimed at improving safety, livability, and environmental sustainability. Types of assistance include structural repairs, accessibility improvements, and energy-efficient upgrades.
- Strengthening partnerships with local government channels – to ensure transparent processes and coordination with national housing priorities.
- Enhancing long-term well-being – by ensuring families live in safer, more dignified conditions, contributing to greater household stability and resilience.
The project in Eastern Amman will be implemented from June /2024 to June/2026
