Habitat for Humanity International

Founded in 1976 in the United States, Habitat for Humanity began as a grassroots effort to address housing poverty and has since grown into one of the world’s leading organizations focused on affordable shelter.

Today, Habitat works in more than 70 countries to eliminate substandard housing by partnering with families, volunteers, and communities to build, rehabilitate, and improve homes.

As of 2024, Habitat for Humanity has helped over 62 million people worldwide gain access to safe, decent, and affordable housing. Its programs include disaster response, neighborhood revitalization, and advocacy to influence housing policies and systems.

With support from a global network of donors, partners, and volunteers, Habitat continues to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter for people of all backgrounds, races, and faiths.
