Habitat for Humanity Jordan is proud to announce that two of its team members have recently taken on significant leadership positions, strengthening both national and regional efforts to advance safe, decent, and affordable housing.
Mohammad Al Salem, Program Manager at Habitat Jordan, has been elected Co-Chair of the Shelter Working Group in Jordan alongside UNHCR. This platform brings together the national government, U.N. agencies, and both national and international nongovernmental organizations to coordinate housing solutions for the most vulnerable — including more than 1.4 million Syrian refugees — while supporting host communities across the country. This work aligns closely with Habitat Jordan’s advocacy for stronger housing policies and infrastructure improvements in informal settlements, where many residents face overcrowded and deteriorating living conditions.

Meanwhile, Tariq Naddaf, TL-Project Engineer at Habitat Jordan, has been appointed Habitability Focal Point for Habitat for Humanity’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EME) region. In this role, Tariq supports national offices in applying HFHI’s habitability framework and housing quality standards across programs, providing technical guidance, supporting capacity building, and ensuring consistent application of habitability guidelines throughout project design and implementation. His appointment builds on his impactful work in Jordan to improve housing conditions and community well-being, while enabling the exchange of knowledge and best practices across the region.

These new roles highlight Habitat Jordan’s commitment to leadership, collaboration, and innovation in addressing housing challenges — from local communities to the broader regional stage.
